Your Input is Needed - Take The River North Community Issues Survey!

River North Residents Association (RNRA) invites all River North businesses to participate in a Community Survey addressing a variety of River North concerns including parking policy for the area (metering, residential permiting, etc.). The survey also includes an open forum soliciting your input in areas you feel need to be addressed.

RNA and RNRA are committed to working together to ensure a balanced represention of community thought in works with city officials, local businesses, community organizations and other stakeholders on issues affecting our neighborhood. RNA Announces 2007 Business to Business Breakfast Series - Participants Needed

We are pleased to announce Minding Your Own Business, a bi-monthly breakfast seminars series beginning in January 2007. The purpose of these seminars is to provide education to working business owners on a variety of topics that will help develop the structure of their business and increase their visibility in the marketplace to create more business.

Topics could include: Getting Financing to Take Your Business to the Next Level; Using the Internet as a Sales Tool; Basic Protections for Your Business; Hiring the Right People to Help Your Company Grow; Creating An Exit Strategy; and more!

We are currently forming a committee to develop the series, chaired by RNA member Jean Hagerty (Hagerty Grenis & Associates). If you are interested in particating in this series as a presenter, have ideas for additional seminar topics or would like to sponsor this series, please contact Heather Imhoff at RNA's offices (312-645-1047 or heather@rivernorthassociation.com) or Jean Hagerty (312-479-8118 or jeanandjoyce@aol.com).

The first planning meeting for interested participants will be held the last week of September, date to be determined.


Officer Appreciation Day is September 21st - Volunteers Needed!

Volunteer your time on Thursday, September 21st to show the officers of our Chicago Police Department's 18th District our thanks! Volunteers are needed to greet officers and staff, serve meals, serve on set up/clean up detail and more in 2-hour time slots starting at 4:30am on September 21st and running all day through to 2:30am on the 22nd. River North Association has donated $1,000 to this worthy cause.

Catch Dinner & A Movie in Erie Park!

Have you visited River North's spectacular new gem? Come on out to the newly opened Erie Park on Tuesday, September 12th at 8:00pm to enjoy a free showing of the Chicago classic film Ferris Bueller's Day Off under the stars. Tony Rocco's River North (312.787-1400) and White Hen Pantry (312.335.8541)and both making special boxed meals available for purchase by movie goers. Call in advance to order.

Bring Art Into Your Workplace!

The Chicago Artists' Coalition newest program, CAC Around Town, brings together Chicago-area businesses and CAC artists for a series of curated installations now being scheduled through May 2007. The CAC will work with participating businesses (or condominum buildings) to curate an installation of incredible works of art in your lobby or other common space.
