October Business Social

Wednesday, October 18th
5:30-7:00pm
ABOV Gallery
444 North Wells, Ste 205

ABOV.jpgJoin us for an enjoyable evening in the company of fellow RNA members and enjoy the artwork at ABOV Gallery as they host our October Business Social on Wednesday, October 18th from 5:30 until 7:00pm. They’ll be serving up cocktails and hors d’ouevres— you don’t want to miss this great autumn evening of networking, artwork, and conversation in River North.

ABOV features works of art crafted from satellite data recorded from over 400 miles above the Earth. At first glance these images might resemble oil paintings or photographs. In reality, the textures found naturally on the surface of the Earth create the same depth, detail and touch of a skilled brush stroke. Nature leaves its mark and the ABOV artists “paint” that signature. In the near future ABOV will be releasing the first photographs from Stuart Black’s “Shooting the Past” collection. These are photographs from cold war spy satellites from the 1960-1980s and Chicago and Lake Shore Drive will be the first images released. They’re black/white and part of the ABOV Retro Satellite Photography series.

At the Business Social, business cards will be collected and two cards will be selected to receive 20% off of their first art purchase. (size restrictions apply).

Complimentary to RNA Members; Non-Members $15

We need at least nine outstanding RNA members to present these seminars! Seminars will be scheduled from January through April on Thursdays from 10:00am to 11:30am. They are attended by 15 - 20 students, and the class can come to your business (preferred so that they can meet you in your environment) or you can make a presentation in the classroom. Presentations should focus is on how you got involved in your line of work, what exactly is your line of work, why you find it rewarding, your training or background, advice you may have for a student interested in pursing a career in your field, etc. This is the first salvo in what we hope to be a fruitful and rewarding relationship between RNA and Walter Payton High School.
