River North Rendezvous
River North’s annual Fall event – The River North Rendezvous – is taking a hiatus in 2008 so it can be back next year representing the area in a bigger and better way! The past format featured 12 River North galleries, each featuring a River North restaurant and entertainment for ticket holders to enjoy as they visited the gallery. Volunteers from River North non-profits helped to staff the galleries and in return the non-profits represented shared in the proceeds of the evening.
“Many factors were considered before postponing the event. We know that many River North residents and businesses look forward to this ‘kick off’ for the fall art season and we didn’t want to disappoint them,” RNA President Mark Kelly said. “However, by taking a one year hiatus we will be better able to re-vamp the experience so everyone will be pleased and more River North Association members will benefit.”
The Rendezvous will return in Fall of 2009. A committee will begin planning in March so the event will be ready to go by its usual September date.
